As a highly engaged member of your community, you want to see real-time change on the ground. Our M.A. in community development (MCD) will equip you for a myriad of careers and jobs while preparing you through real-world training and connecting you to community-based partners. You’ll learn the basis of community engagement and establish a foundation in sustainable and effective community development practices while learning to apply these skills across different sectors, including housing, health, finance, business development and more.

How to Apply

  • Apply coursework and classroom training during a yearlong capstone project in your community while also building a professional network of faculty and peers from an array of disciplines.
  • The program’s flexible start schedule allows you to start in the summer, fall or spring and earn your degree in just 14 to 24 months while working.
