Policy Education for Leadership and Change
A Master in Public Policy (MPP) degree offers you the tools you need to make a difference and create change in the challenging environment of 21st-century policy-making. You’ll learn how to develop transformative policies through research and analysis and how to strategically communicate those policies to bring your ideas to fruition. In addition to equipping you to serve in a variety of public policy jobs, our MPP program will provide you with the skills to address the pressing issues that matter to you — locally, nationally and globally. With the ability to earn your MPP degree in just 14 months, your public policy career is right around the corner!
Key Program Highlights:
- Meet with key policymakers from Congress, the White House, government agencies, political parties, advocacy groups, think tanks and more through on-campus events and meetings and the program’s Washington, D.C. colloquium.
- Learn theory and practical skills of research, analytics and communications necessary to succeed in the policy world.
- Build real-life skills through a policy internship and apply knowledge and skills gained during a capstone project.

Funding Your MPP Degree
The Carsey School offers paid policy-related fellowships to MPP students, enabling them to earn and learn while enrolled in the program. Fellowship positions last for two semesters (typically commencing in the fall and concluding the following spring) with student fellows working 15 hours per week (while classes are in session) and receiving a stipend of $4,600 per semester.
